{"id":2597,"date":"2020-03-02T09:31:49","date_gmt":"2020-03-02T09:31:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wildlifepictures.ir\/?p=2597&#038;lang=en"},"modified":"2025-10-16T15:36:38","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T12:06:38","slug":"vortex-united-nations-world-wildlife-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wildlifepictures.ir\/en\/vortex-united-nations-world-wildlife-day\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cVortex\u201d Among Finalists for the United Nations World Wildlife Day Film Showcase"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The documentary film <strong>\u201cVortex\u201d<\/strong>, directed by <strong>Fathollah Amiri<\/strong> and co-produced by <strong>Dr. Bagher Nezami<\/strong> and <strong>Fathollah Amiri<\/strong>, was selected as <strong>Iran\u2019s only representative<\/strong> among the finalists of the <strong>United Nations World Wildlife Day Film Showcase<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>This global event is organized in collaboration with the <strong>Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)<\/strong>, the <strong>United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)<\/strong>, and the <strong>Jackson Wild Film Festival<\/strong>. For this edition, judges, professional filmmakers, and scientists from around the world selected the finalists from films submitted by various countries.<\/p>\n\n<p>The selected films were officially screened at the <strong>United Nations Headquarters in New York<\/strong> on <strong>Tuesday, March 3, 2020 (Esfand 13, 1398)<\/strong>, coinciding with the celebration of <strong>World Wildlife Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u201cVortex\u201d<\/strong> competed alongside productions from <strong>National Geographic<\/strong>, <strong>ARTE France<\/strong>, <strong>NDR Netherlands<\/strong>, <strong>SVT Sweden<\/strong>, <strong>BBC Nature<\/strong>, <strong>Nat Geo Wild<\/strong>, <strong>ORF<\/strong>, and <strong>France 3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>This film examines the <strong>critical status of the Asiatic cheetah in Iran<\/strong>, as well as the <strong>mismanagement and environmental threats<\/strong> endangering this rare species.
