Iran is the last stronghold of the precious Asiatic cheetah.
Less than fifty years ago, this magnificent feline roamed vast regions of Asia — from India to the Middle East and Central parts of the continent. Today, however, fewer than 40 individuals of the Asiatic cheetah remain in Iran’s wilderness.
This tragic reality reminds us that the fate of this rare and unique species lies in the hands of the Iranian people.
The Wildlife Pictures Institute extends its congratulations on National Asiatic Cheetah Day to all wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists, hoping that through effort, awareness, and collective empathy, this iconic symbol of Iran’s natural heritage will once again have the chance to survive and flourish.
