The documentary film “Ranger and Leopard”, co-directed by Fathollah Amiri and Nima Asgari, won an award at the 21st Gran Paradiso International Film Festival in Italy.
Held from July 23 to 28 (Mordad 1–6) in the foothills of the Italian Alps, the festival featured a warm audience reception, where “Ranger and Leopard” earned the Jury Prize.
Synopsis:
“Mohammadreza Helvani, a passionate ranger devoted to nature and wildlife, has never before captured any evidence of a leopard in his protected area. However, after receiving reports of leopard sightings, he becomes determined to document the presence of this elusive predator.”
This documentary, produced by the IRIB Jame Jam Channel and the Wildlife Pictures Institute, has already received numerous international honors, including:
- Best Film in the Human and Nature Category – Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival, USA
- Best Film in the Human and Nature Category – Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival, USA
- Special Jury Prize – Green Image Film Festival, Japan
- Screened at international festivals including DCEFF (Washington), CinemAmbiente (Italy), Big Cats (New York), Silk Road (Ireland), and VASSA (Finland).
- Selected as a semifinalist at the 41st International Wildlife Film Festival (IWFF), Montana.
