The documentary films “Tanhavash” and “Alamto, a Reptile Wonderland”, both produced by the Wildlife Pictures Institute and directed by Fathollah Amiri, will be screened in the competition section of the VAASA Wildlife Festival in Finland.
The documentary “Tanhavash”, produced by IRIB Semnan Center, marks its first international appearance at this festival and explores the life of the Iranian cheetah in Kavir National Park. In contrast, “Alamto, a Reptile Wonderland”, which focuses on the mysterious lives of reptiles in western Iran, has previously been screened at several international festivals including those in the United States, Japan, and Germany, and has earned multiple awards at national festivals in Iran.
The biennial VAASA Festival has been held for over fourteen years in western Finland and is regarded as one of the most prestigious scientific and wildlife events in the Scandinavian region.
This edition of the festival takes place from September 28 to October 2, 2016 (Mehr 5–11, 1395), featuring films from 54 countries in the city of Vaasa.
