“Ranger and Leopard” Nominated for Best Film at the 12th Green Screen International Wildlife Film Festival in Germany

The documentary film “Ranger and Leopard”, co-directed by Fathollah Amiri and Nima Asgari, continues its international success by being nominated for Best Film at the Green Screen Film Festival in Germany.

The film will be screened on September 14, 2018, at 14:00 in the city of Eckernförde, at Das Haus cinema. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with Fathollah Amiri, one of the film’s directors.

The Wildlife Pictures Institute invites all wildlife enthusiasts in Germany to join the director at this international event and enjoy the screening of this acclaimed documentary.

The 12th Green Screen Film Festival, recognized as Europe’s largest annual wildlife film festival, takes place from September 12 to 16 in northern Germany, on the Baltic Sea coast. The event hosts more than 20,000 visitors, including filmmakers, independent producers, and television network representatives.

The film “Ranger and Leopard”, representing Iran as its only entry in the festival, will compete alongside works from Germany, Austria, France, Canada, the United States, Turkey, Japan, Russia, Ecuador, Brazil, Finland, India, Kenya, Australia, Serbia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Denmark, and Ireland.

Synopsis:

“Mohammadreza Helvani, a devoted ranger passionate about nature and wildlife, has never before captured any evidence of a leopard in his protected area. After receiving reports of the animal’s presence, he sets out to document the elusive predator himself.”

Produced by the IRIB Jame Jam Channel and the Wildlife Pictures Institute, this documentary has earned numerous awards and honors, including:

  • Special Jury Prize at the Green Image Film Festival, Japan, as well as screenings at DCEFF (Washington), CinemAmbiente (Italy), Big Cats (New York), Silk Road (Ireland), IWFF (Montana), and VASSA (Finland).
  • Best Film in the Human and Nature Category at the prestigious Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival, USA.
  • First Prize at the Gran Paradiso Film Festival, Italy
  • Best Directing Award at the 11th Cinema Verite Documentary Film Festival, Iran
