The documentary film “Ranger and Leopard”, co-directed by Fathollah Amiri and Nima Asgari, is the latest production of the Wildlife Pictures Institute and has been selected as a finalist at the prestigious Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival in the United States.
The Jackson Hole Festival is recognized as the world’s most important event dedicated to wildlife filmmaking. It is held biennially in the state of Wyoming, USA, near Grand Teton National Park, and hosts leading producers and broadcasters of nature documentaries from around the globe.
This marks the first time a film from Iran has reached the final stage of this world-renowned event.
Major international wildlife production companies such as BBC Nature, Discovery, ZDF, National Geographic, France Télévisions, Terra Mater, NatGeo Wild, WWF-UK, and Netflix participate in the festival, competing with their latest productions.
The documentary “Ranger and Leopard”, produced by the IRIB Jame Jam Channel, was selected in the “People and Nature” category from among more than 600 submissions, and will compete alongside three other finalists. This edition of the festival runs from September 24 to 29 (Mehr 2–7) and features acclaimed works such as “Planet Earth II” (BBC America) and productions by leading global studios.
This 52-minute documentary marks its first international appearance. Its festival distribution is managed by Majid Mohammaddoost of the Wildlife Pictures Institute. The film’s official poster will be released soon through the institute’s website.
